Steering wheel vibration on Haval H6 at high speed – alignment o r EPS problem?

I recently bought a 2023 Haval H6 1.5 HEV and have noticed that the steering wheel vibrates above 100 km/h, especially on the motorway. I’ve done wheel balancing and alignment twice, but the vibration is still there. A local mechanic in Islamabad suggested it might be an issue with the steering rack bushings o r EPS calibration, not just the tires. Could this be a common Haval H6 issue in Pakistan, o r do I need to get the steering system checked under warranty? Anyone else experiencing the same at high speeds?

If the steering wheel vibrates above 100 km/h, it’s usually not the EPS, but more likely wheel balance o r steering rack bushing wear. However, since you’ve already done wheel balancing and alignment, it’s worth checking deeper:

Check Tire Roundness: Some imported o r local tires develop a flat spot, especially in hot weather o r if the car sits idle for long.

Inspect Steering Rack Mounts: Worn o r loose rack mounts cause minor play, leading to vibration at high speeds.

Wheel Hub o r Bearing Play: Even a slight hub imbalance can cause vibration that feels like a steering issue.

EPS Calibration if hybrid model: The H6 HEV has a slightly different steering assist system — sometimes a steering angle sensor recalibration through a diagnostic tool fixes vibration issues after wheel alignment.

If your H6 is still under warranty, take it to GWM’s authorized service center — they’ve handled several similar cases in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. In most instances, they fix it with rebalancing, recalibration, o r replacing a worn steering bushing, not a full EPS replacement.
