Are all new JMC vehicles in Pakistan meeting local safety regulations, including crash test standards, seatbelt functionality, and airbag installation? How often are these safety features inspected before the vehicle is delivered to customers?

Under the “type‑approval scheme,” vehicles local o r imported may require certification through internationally recognized testing labs before being approved in Pakistan — which, in theory, could cover features like airbags, brakes, seat belts, etc.

So far, the authorities have recognized that many “basic safety features” e.g. effective braking systems, airbags, child‑locks have been lacking in locally assembled o r imported vehicles.
