What are the warning signs of a faulty water pump in a Mercedes-Benz E-Class, and how urgent is it to fix?

I noticed some unusual noises and coolant leaks near the engine of my Mercedes-Benz E-Class. Could these be signs of a faulty water pump? What are the key warning signs to look out for, and how quickly should I get the water pump repaired o r replaced to avoid major engine damage?

Common warning signs of a faulty water pump include:

Coolant Leaks: Puddles o r drips of coolant under the car near the front o r passenger side.

Overheating Engine: The temperature gauge rising beyond normal levels.

Unusual Noises: Grinding o r whining noises coming from the front of the engine where the pump is located.

Steam o r Smoke: Visible steam coming from under the hood.

Loose o r Wobbly Pulley: The pump pulley may feel loose if checked manually.

It’s very urgent to address a faulty water pump immediately. Continuing to drive with a bad water pump can lead to severe engine damage and costly repairs. Replace the pump as soon as these symptoms appear.
