What causes fuel leaks around the fuel tank area in BMW 2 Series, and how common is this in Pakistan?

After driving my BMW 218i in Lahore, I noticed some wet spots under the rear side of the car near the fuel tank. Could this be due to a cracked fuel tank hose o r loose clamps? What should I check first?

Fuel leaks near the tank often stem from:

Cracked o r aged fuel hoses connecting the tank to the fuel pump and filler neck

Loose o r damaged hose clamps due to vibration o r improper servicing

Occasionally, corrosion o r minor damage to the fuel tank itself rare in newer BMWs
In Pakistan, poor road conditions and rough driving can accelerate wear on these components. Regular inspection and tightening of clamps during service help prevent leaks.
If you notice wet spots o r strong fuel smells near the rear, do not delay repairs—fuel leaks can lead to fires.
