A faulty O2 sensor can send incorrect signals, affecting air-fuel ratio and damaging the converter. Are these sensors being checked regularly during service?

A critical role:

A bad O2 sensor sends incorrect data to the ECU, causing rich o r lean air-fuel mixtures.

Rich mixtures release unburnt fuel into the exhaust, which overheats and clogs the catalytic converter.

Sensor issues often occur before converter damage, but are rarely tested during regular service.

➡️ Replace O2 sensors at 60,000–80,000 km, o r earlier if CEL is triggered.
