Why are the power door locks on my Mercedes-Benz E-Class not responding to the remote key fob?

Sometimes when I press the lock/unlock buttons on my Mercedes-Benz E-Class remote key fob, the power door locks don’t respond at all. Other times they work fine. Could this be due to a weak key fob battery, interference, o r a fault in the car’s central locking system? How common is this intermittent remote lock failure in Pakistan’s environment?

Intermittent response from the remote key fob can be caused by:

Weak o r dead key fob battery: This is the most common cause. Replacing the battery usually solves the problem.

Signal interference: Urban areas in Pakistan with many wireless devices can sometimes cause remote signal interference.

Faulty key fob: Internal damage o r worn-out buttons can lead to inconsistent operation.

Central locking system issues: Wiring problems, blown fuses, o r a faulty control module inside the car can cause the locks to ignore remote commands.

Receiver antenna problem: If the vehicle’s receiver is damaged o r obstructed, it may not detect the remote signal properly.

Start by replacing the key fob battery, and if the issue persists, have the car’s central locking system inspected by a qualified technician.
