Why did my BMW 2 Series transmission fail after only 60,000 km?

I recently experienced a transmission failure in my 2018 BMW 2 Series after just 60,000 km. The dealership says it needs a complete replacement. Is this normal? Could poor fuel, overheating, o r local road conditions in Pakistan be the reason?

Transmission failure before 100,000 km is usually a result of:

Lack of timely fluid change BMW often doesn’t include this in normal maintenance

Use of non-genuine o r incorrect transmission fluid

Extreme weather and dusty roads in Pakistan affecting seals and electronics
Also, DCT systems are known to be less durable in traffic-heavy conditions. Always check if your workshop used BMW-approved ATF and if a fluid flush was ever done.
