Why do streaks appear on my BMW 2 Series windshield even after using new wiper blades?

I recently replaced the wiper blades on my BMW 218i, but streaks still appear when wiping the windshield. Could dirt, oil film, o r windshield coating issues be causing this?

If streaks persist despite new blades, possible causes include:

Dirty windshield surface: Dust, bird pings, o r oily residues prevent clean wiping.

Wiper blade contamination: New blades may have manufacturing oils o r dirt that need cleaning before installation.

Damaged o r uneven wiper arms: If arms don’t apply even pressure, blades don’t wipe effectively.

Windshield coatings: Some aftermarket coatings can degrade and cause streaking.
To fix this, thoroughly clean the windshield with automotive glass cleaner and inspect wiper arms for proper alignment.
