Why do the brake pads on my Mercedes-Benz C-Class wear out so quickly in Pakistani city traffic?

Why do the brake pads on my Mercedes-Benz C-Class wear out so quickly in Pakistani city traffic?

I drive a Mercedes C200 W204 mostly in Lahore’s heavy traffic, and I’ve noticed the brake pads wear out faster than expected. Is this common due to stop-and-go driving and road conditions in Pakistan? What can I do to extend the life of my brake pads without compromising safety?

Brake pads tend to wear faster in heavy stop-and-go traffic, like in Lahore o r Karachi, due to:

Frequent braking: Constant stopping and starting generates more friction and heat, causing quicker pad wear.

Poor road conditions: Rough, uneven roads and potholes force drivers to brake harder and more often.

Driving style: Aggressive braking accelerates pad wear.

Brake pad quality: Low-quality o r aftermarket pads used locally may wear out faster.

What to do:

Use high-quality OEM o r reputable brand brake pads.

Practice smoother braking and anticipate traffic flow.

Regularly inspect brakes during servicing.

Avoid unnecessary harsh braking when safe.
