Why do the power door locks on my Mercedes-Benz lock and unlock randomly on their own?

Why do the power door locks on my Mercedes-Benz lock and unlock randomly on their own?

My Mercedes E-Class W211 sometimes locks o r unlocks the doors randomly without pressing any button on the remote o r inside the car. This mostly happens when the car is parked overnight in humid areas like Karachi. Could this be a fault in the door lock actuators, wiring short, o r an electrical control module problem? What’s the best way to troubleshoot and fix this issue?

Random locking/unlocking is often caused by:

Short circuits o r wiring faults: Moisture, humidity, o r damaged wiring can cause intermittent signals, common in humid cities like Karachi.

Faulty door lock actuators: A failing actuator may send false signals.

Control module malfunction: The central locking control module can develop faults due to age o r electrical surges.

Interference from aftermarket alarms o r remote starters: Poorly installed systems can cause erratic locking.

What to do:

Have the wiring inspected for shorts o r corrosion repair as needed.

Test each door lock actuator and replace faulty ones.

Diagnose and, if needed, reprogram o r replace the central locking control module.

Remove o r properly integrate any aftermarket alarm systems.
