Why does my BMW engine sputter after a cold start in the morning?

Every morning, when I start my 2 Series 2016 model, the engine sputters for a few seconds before stabilizing. This happens more often during colder months in Islamabad. Could this be a spark plug issue o r something else?

This could be due to:

Worn spark plugs o r ignition coils

Dirty throttle body o r intake valves

Carbon buildup on direct injection engines common in BMWs

In Islamabad o r colder regions, moisture o r low battery voltage can also cause temporary misfires. Try:

Using high-quality fuel

Getting a carbon cleaning o r engine decarb

Replacing plugs if they’re older than 40,000 km
