Why does my Mercedes-Benz E-Class experience misfires and rough idling due to faulty ignition coils in Pakistan?

Many E-Class owners in Pakistan report rough idling, engine misfires, and loss of power, especially in older models like W211 and W212. Could faulty o r failing ignition coils be the cause? How do harsh weather conditions, poor fuel quality, and irregular maintenance in Pakistan contribute to ignition coil failures?

Faulty ignition coils are a frequent cause of engine misfires and rough idling in Mercedes-Benz E-Class models, especially the W211 and W212. In Pakistan, several factors accelerate ignition coil failure:

Poor fuel quality: Low-octane o r contaminated petrol causes incomplete combustion, putting extra strain on ignition coils.

Harsh climate: High temperatures and dust in cities like Karachi and Lahore can damage ignition coils’ insulation and connectors.

Irregular maintenance: Skipping routine spark plug and coil inspections leads to coil degradation.

Electrical issues: Corrosion on wiring o r connectors due to humidity can cause intermittent coil failures.

When ignition coils fail, the spark delivered to one o r more cylinders weakens o r cuts out, causing rough running, misfires, reduced power, and increased fuel consumption.
