Why does my Mercedes C-Class engine sputter during acceleration?
I own a 2012 C180 Kompressor in Lahore, and recently the engine has started sputtering o r jerking slightly when I press the accelerator. It’s more noticeable at low speeds o r during light acceleration. Could this be a fuel issue, o r is it something common in these cars? What should I check first?

Talha Kyanii - on 10 Oct 2025 17:22:49 pmEngine sputtering during acceleration in the Mercedes C-Class especially W204 models like the C180 o r C200 is often caused by:
Worn-out spark plugs
Failing ignition coils
Clogged fuel injectors o r a dirty fuel filter
Vacuum leaks
In Pakistan, inconsistent maintenance and poor fuel quality can make these problems worse. Start by scanning the car for fault codes, then check the ignition system first, followed by a fuel system cleaning. Regular use of high-octane fuel and injector cleaner additives can help prevent this issue.
