“Why does my Tesla Model 2 power window make grinding o r squeaking noises?”

Whenever I open o r close the window, I hear a grinding o r squeaking sound. It happens more on bumpy o r dusty roads. Could the dust in Pakistan be causing friction in the window rails, o r is the window regulator wearing out? What should I inspect first?

Grinding o r squeaking sounds usually happen when dust, debris, o r sand enters the window tracks. This is very common in Pakistan because of dusty roads, construction areas, and frequent windstorms.

Possible causes:

Dry o r dirty window tracks

Worn-out window regulator components

Misaligned window glass rubbing against the frame

Rubber seals hardening due to heat

What to inspect first:

Window rails for dirt and debris

Rubber weatherstrips for dryness o r cracks

Window alignment look for uneven movement

What to do:

Clean tracks thoroughly and lubricate them with silicone spray.

If grinding persists, the regulator may be worn and may need replacement.

Avoid rolling windows down on extremely dusty roads.
