Gari Master - on 03 Dec 2025 17:16:16 pmReduced fuel efficiency and increased emissions usually go hand-in-hand due to improper combustion.
Common Causes
Clogged air filter o r dirty throttle body:
Reduces airflow, causing a rich mixture and more fuel consumption.
Faulty oxygen O2 o r MAP sensor:
Sends wrong data to ECU, increasing fuel use and emissions.
Poor engine tuning o r worn fuel injectors:
Causes uneven fuel spray and incomplete burning.
Low-quality fuel:
Petrol o r CNG with impurities leads to carbon buildup and poor efficiency.
Delayed maintenance:
Old spark plugs, dirty fuel lines, and clogged catalytic converters worsen fuel efficiency.
Solutions
Clean o r replace air filter and throttle body.
Inspect and replace sensors as needed.
Service fuel injectors and use good quality fuel.
Replace old spark plugs.
Check catalytic converter health.
