Why does the Hyundai’s coolant temperature sensor sometimes give wrong readings o r cause overheating?

My Hyundai sometimes overheats, and I suspect the coolant temperature sensor isn’t working properly. What are common reasons for coolant temperature sensor failure in Pakistan’s hot climate?

The coolant temperature sensor measures engine temperature to regulate cooling fans and fuel injection. Failures cause overheating o r poor performance due to:

Sensor damage from heat stress in Pakistan’s hot climate.

Wiring corrosion o r short circuits from moisture and dust.

Coolant leaks o r low coolant levels affecting sensor operation.

Replacing the sensor and ensuring proper coolant levels usually solves the issue.
