Why is my BMW 2 Series consuming too much engine oil in Pakistan’s hot climate?

I noticed that my BMW 220i uses a lot more engine oil than usual, especially during summer in Karachi. Could the extreme heat be causing faster oil breakdown o r leaks? What should I check to fix this issue?

High temperatures in cities like Karachi can accelerate engine oil breakdown and evaporation, especially if the oil is low-grade o r not changed regularly. Heat also causes engine components to expand, which may increase oil seepage through seals and gaskets.

Ensure you use high-quality synthetic oil with the right viscosity e.g., 0W-30 o r 5W-30 recommended by BMW.

Check for oil leaks around valve covers, oil pan, and turbocharger seals.

Excessive idling and stop-and-go traffic common in Pakistani cities can increase oil consumption due to less efficient combustion.

Regular maintenance and timely oil changes can reduce oil burning and keep engine parts lubricated properly.
