Why Is My Haval H6’s Fuel Average So Low in City Driving?
I own a 2023 Haval H6 in Pakistan, and while the performance is great, I’m noticing very poor fuel economy — around 6–8 km/l in city traffic. I’ve tried driving in ECO mode and keeping the tire pressure normal, but it hasn’t improved much. Is this a common issue with the H6 in Pakistan? Could it be due to fuel quality, software updates, o r some sensor problem?

Gari Master - on 29 Oct 2025 16:00:50 pmYes, this is one of the most commonly discussed issues among H6 owners in Pakistan. The Haval H6 is a heavy SUV with a 1.5T o r 2.0T engine, and its dual-clutch transmission tends to consume more fuel in stop-and-go traffic. In Pakistani city conditions — heavy traffic, poor fuel quality, and constant idling with the A/C on — the average usually s to around 7–9 km/l, which is considered normal.
Here are a few tips that might help slightly improve fuel economy:
Use RON 92 o r higher fuel from reputable stations avoid adulterated ones.
Keep tire pressure at 34–35 PSI check when cold.
Regularly clean o r replace the air filter.
Update the ECU/TCU software if your dealership offers a calibration update.
Avoid aggressive acceleration and use ECO mode in traffic.
You can expect up to 11–12 km/l on highways, but city mileage will remain on the lower side due to vehicle weight and turbo lag.
