Why is my Mercedes-Benz C-Class losing power and struggling to accelerate?
Loss of power and slow acceleration can be symptoms of a clogged catalytic converter. In Pakistan, due to low-quality fuel and high traffic conditions, the catalytic converter can get blocked with carbon deposits much faster than in cleaner environments. A clogged converter restricts exhaust flow, causing the engine to struggle, especially during acceleration o r uphill driving. You may also notice increased fuel consumption and a check engine light.

Gari Master - on 10 Oct 2025 18:19:38 pmThis is often caused by a clogged catalytic converter. In Pakistan, the use of low-grade fuel, poor maintenance habits, and urban stop-and-go driving can cause carbon buildup inside the catalytic converter. This buildup restricts exhaust flow, which creates backpressure and makes it hard for the engine to breathe properly. As a result, the car feels sluggish, especially during acceleration o r when driving uphill. A mechanic can confirm this with a backpressure test o r OBD scan.
