Why is my Mercedes-Benz C-Class showing poor fuel economy in Pakistan’s city traffic?

Many owners experience lower than expected mileage while driving in heavy city traffic conditions like those in Karachi o r Lahore. What are the main reasons behind poor fuel efficiency in stop-and-go traffic and hot weather typical of Pakistan?

Poor fuel economy in city traffic is common due to frequent stops, idling, and slow speeds, which cause the engine to work harder and consume more fuel. In cities like Karachi and Lahore, heavy congestion, aggressive acceleration, and hot weather increase fuel consumption. Additionally, running the air conditioning continuously in Pakistan’s climate puts extra load on the engine, further reducing mileage.
