Why is my Mercedes-Benz C-Class showing reduced engine performance and sluggish acceleration?
One of the most common causes of sluggish performance in the C-Class is a clogged air filter. In Pakistan, where roads are often dusty and pollution levels are high, the air filter gets dirty more quickly than expected. A dirty filter restricts airflow to the engine, reducing combustion efficiency. This results in sluggish acceleration, poor throttle response, and sometimes even higher fuel consumption. Replacing the air filter every 10,000–15,000 km or sooner in dusty areas is highly recommended.

The most likely cause is a clogged air filter. In Pakistan, due to high dust levels and air pollution, the air filter can get blocked much faster than in cleaner environments. A dirty filter restricts the amount of air entering the engine, which affects fuel combustion and leads to poor acceleration, reduced power, and increased fuel consumption. Replacing the air filter more frequently—especially in urban o r dusty areas—can restore proper performance.
