Why is my Mercedes C-Class transmission overheating during long drives in Pakistan?

On long trips from Islamabad to Lahore, my 2015 C200 shows a transmission warning and goes into limp mode. Mechanics say the transmission is overheating. Could the high temperatures in Pakistan be causing this? Is overheating a sign of failing transmission components like the torque converter o r cooler?

Transmission overheating in C-Class vehicles during long drives in Pakistan is often due to:

Blocked o r damaged transmission cooler lines

A failing torque converter

Low o r old ATF fluid

Driving in high ambient temperatures e.g. over 40°C with poor ventilation

In Pakistani conditions, the underbody and cooler are exposed to road grime, which can block airflow. Also, cheap o r incorrect ATF worsens overheating issues.

When the transmission overheats, the car may enter limp mode to prevent damage. To prevent failure:

Clean o r replace the cooler and lines

Use Mercedes-approved ATF

Consider adding a secondary transmission cooler if you do frequent highway trips
