Why is my Mercedes E-Class consuming more fuel than usual even with regular maintenance?
My E-Class W211 used to give decent mileage, but recently I’ve seen a noticeable in fuel efficiency. I get it serviced regularly and use high-octane fuel, but the average is still poor. Could it be due to faulty sensors like the O2 o r MAF sensor, tire pressure issues, o r driving habits? What are common fuel consumption problems in Pakistan?

Poor fuel economy in E-Class cars is often reported in Pakistan due to a combination of mechanical and environmental reasons:
Possible causes:
Faulty oxygen sensor o r MAF sensor: Leads to incorrect air-fuel mixture, increasing fuel use.
Under-inflated tires: Increases rolling resistance.
Dirty air filter o r spark plugs: Reduces combustion efficiency.
Bad fuel quality o r mixing of low-grade petrol: Common in some areas of Pakistan.
Short trips and heavy traffic: Don’t allow the engine to reach optimal temperature o r efficiency.
What to do:
Scan the car for sensor faults and replace any failing O2 o r MAF sensors.
Keep tires inflated to the recommended pressure.
Replace air filter and spark plugs if worn.
Use high-quality fuel and avoid mixed o r diluted fuel pumps.
Avoid excessive idling and plan routes to reduce stop-and-go driving.
