“Why is my Tesla Model 2 autopilot o r lane-keeping sensor not detecting lanes properly?”
The lane-keeping system sometimes fails to detect lane markings, especially on poorly maintained Pakistani roads with faded o r uneven paint. Could this be due to sensor misalignment, software issues, o r just poor road conditions? How can I ensure the sensors work optimally?

Gari Master - on 22 Nov 2025 12:34:01 pmLane detection depends on cameras and sensors that read lane markings. In Pakistan, poorly maintained roads with faded, uneven, o r missing lane paint make it difficult for the system to work correctly.
Other possible causes:
Dirty cameras o r obstructed lenses
Glare from sunlight o r rain on the windshield
Minor misalignment of cameras due to bumps o r vibrations
Software calibration needing update
What to do:
Clean all windshield cameras gently with a microfiber cloth.
Avoid relying on autopilot on roads with poorly marked lanes.
Check for software updates in Tesla’s system Tesla occasionally releases calibration fixes.
If the problem persists, a Tesla technician can recalibrate cameras.
