Why is the Changan Kalam not equipped with essential safety features like airbags and ABS in its Pakistani variants?

Many drivers raise concerns about the lack of basic safety systems. Should Changan Pakistan make these features standard even in light commercial vehicles?

Because of cost-cutting and regulatory leniency.

Changan Kalam is marketed as a budget commercial vehicle, and to keep the price competitive, non-mandatory safety features like ABS and airbags are excluded.

Pakistani automotive regulations for LCVs Light Commercial Vehicles do not currently mandate ABS o r airbags, allowing manufacturers to skip them.

🛠️ Recommendation: Changan should offer ABS and at least a driver airbag as standard, especially as more urban logistics and fleet buyers prioritize safety.
