Why is the Hyundai Sonatas resale value lower in Pakistan compared to other sedans?
I’ve noticed that the resale value of the Hyundai Sonata in Pakistan isn’t as strong as Honda Accord o r Toyota Camry. Is it due to brand perception, availability of parts, o r other reliability concerns? Would love to understand why this is the case and whether it’s expected to improve.

Hyundai is still building its brand reputation in Pakistan, especially in the D-segment sedan category. Unlike Toyota and Honda, which have decades of market presence and trust, Hyundai is relatively new. Many buyers are cautious about resale value due to factors like limited dealership network, concerns about spare part costs, and unfamiliarity with the Korean brand.
Additionally, the Sonata is priced close to o r higher than established rivals like the Camry o r Accord in some cases, but buyers often perceive it as less “premium,” affecting its resale. Over time, if Hyundai continues to improve after-sales service and local parts support, resale may improve — but for now, its seen as a riskier buy in terms of long-term value.
