Why is the paint on my BMW 2 Series fading o r oxidizing quickly in Pakistan’s sun?

My 2016 BMW 218i’s roof and bonnet paint are starting to fade and look dull, especially after long exposure to the sun in Karachi. I park outdoors most of the time. Is this a common problem with BMW paint in Pakistan’s climate?

Pakistan’s intense sun—especially in cities like Karachi, Multan, and Lahore—causes UV radiation damage to car paint. This leads to:

Oxidation dull, chalky appearance

Fading, particularly on the roof, bonnet, and trunk

Loss of clear coat protection

BMW factory paint is high quality, but without UV protection wax/sealant and indoor parking, damage is likely after 4–5 years.

Tips to Prevent Fading:

Park in shade o r use a car cover

Apply a ceramic coating o r UV-protective wax every few months

Wash with pH-neutral shampoo, not harsh detergents
