Braking problem in toyota xli?

hello i am planning to buy a xli but people say that its brakes are not good and the car slides on high speed. is it true or all the 1300 cc have the same problem like honda city....
can u please tell me which car is faster
honda city or toyota corrolla

Xli,Gli has breaks problem not only bcz of stock tyres

Honda city is faster then Xli or Gli chity has good acceleration then corolla but its has bad fuelcut
