Can a clogged air filter reduce fuel average in Suzuki Mehran?

I’ve noticed that my Mehran’s fuel average has ped recently. Someone said the air filter might be dirty. Can a clogged air filter really affect mileage that much?

Yes, a clogged air filter can definitely reduce fuel efficiency in a Suzuki Mehran. The engine needs a proper mix of air and fuel to run efficiently. If the air filter is dirty:

Less air enters the combustion chamber.

The ECU in EFI models o r carburetor in older models compensates by injecting more fuel.

This leads to rich fuel mixture and poor mileage.

If you’re driving in cities like Lahore, Karachi, o r Quetta where theres lots of dust, the filter can clog quickly. Replacing the air filter every 5,000–7,000 km o r every oil change is ideal to maintain good mileage.
