Can a stuck thermostat cause heater to stop working in winter?

I noticed that the heater in my Suzuki Mehran is not blowing warm air during winter mornings. Someone told me it might be due to a thermostat stuck in the open position. How can I confirm if that’s true? And how does thermostat position affect heating?

Yes. If the thermostat is stuck open, the engine may not reach the proper temperature, which means the heater core won’t get hot coolant — so you’ll only get cold air from the heater. Replace the thermostat if it’s stuck open. A working thermostat helps regulate engine temperature and provides proper heating.
