Can bad fuel in Pakistan damage the purge valve in the Swift’s EVAP system?

I usually fill fuel from different stations, and some mechanics say low-quality petrol in Pakistan can clog o r damage the purge control valve. Is this true, and how can I prevent it?

Yes, low-quality o r adulterated fuel—common in some parts of Pakistan—can lead to clogging and contamination of the EVAP system, including the purge control valve.

Effects of bad fuel:

Releases excessive vapors that overload the charcoal canister

Leaves residue o r sludge that blocks the valve

Shortens the lifespan of EVAP components, especially in older vehicles

To protect your system:

Use fuel from reputed petrol pumps

Avoid topping off the tank beyond the nozzle click

Occasionally use fuel system cleaners that are safe for EVAP systems

Preventive maintenance is key, especially for Swifts with over 80,000 km driven.
