Can dust and heat in Pakistan damage the starter motor in a Suzuki Swift?

I live in Karachi and drive my Swift daily in dusty and hot conditions. Lately, the car has occasional starting problems. Could the environmental factors be affecting the starter motor’s performance?

Yes, dust and high temperatures can significantly affect the starter motor’s life in Pakistan. Swift’s starter is positioned low and exposed to road dust, especially on unpaved o r broken roads.

Problems caused by dust/heat:

Dust gets into the motor casing, damaging brushes and bearings.

Heat leads to solenoid coil burnout o r internal contact wear.

Electrical grease o r lubricants dry out faster, increasing friction.

If you drive frequently in areas like Karachi, Multan, o r interior Sindh, it’s advisable to:

Clean electrical connections periodically

Avoid pressure-washing the engine bay which can force water into the motor

Use a protective cover o r heat shield if available
