Can Dust and Pollution in Pakistan Cause Hyundai Tucson’s Power Windows to Fail?

I live in a dusty area and often park outdoors. Lately, the power windows in my Tucson are making grinding noises o r don’t close properly. Could dust and debris be affecting the window mechanism? What’s the best way to clean o r protect it?

Yes, dust, smog, and pollution, especially in urban centers like Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad, can cause:

Grit buildup in window channels, increasing friction.

Contamination inside the window motor o r regulator.

Damage to the cables and sliders within the regulator assembly.

This leads to symptoms like jerky movement, windows stuck halfway, o r unusual grinding sounds.

Solutions:

Clean window channels with compressed air and apply window track lubricant.

Avoid operating windows when dusty o r rainy.

If failure occurs, the motor o r regulator may need cleaning o r replacement.

Covering your car o r parking in a garage when possible helps reduce exposure to dust and dirt.
