Can Dust and Pollution in Pakistan Cause Hyundai Tucson’s Power Windows to Fail?

I live in a dusty area and often park outdoors. Lately, the power windows in my Tucson are making grinding noises o r don’t close properly. Could dust and debris be affecting the window mechanism? What’s the best way to clean o r protect it?
