Can Low-Quality Fuel Cause Spark Plug Damage in My Hyundai Tucson?

I sometimes have to use lower-grade fuel due to availability in Pakistan. Could this be damaging my spark plugs o r reducing their lifespan? What signs should I look for to know if the spark plugs are affected by bad fuel?

fuel often contains impurities like sulfur, dirt, o r additives that don’t burn cleanly. When such fuel combusts, it can leave deposits like carbon o r oily residue on the spark plugs, causing fouling. This buildup reduces the spark plugs’ ability to ignite the fuel-air mixture properly, leading to misfires, rough engine running, and lower fuel efficiency. In extreme cases, it can cause overheating of the spark plugs, leading to premature wear o r even cracking of the ceramic insulator. Signs of fuel-related spark plug damage include black soot on plugs, engine hesitation, poor acceleration, and the check engine light turning on. To minimize damage, try to fill up at trusted fuel stations, avoid very low-octane o r adulterated fuels, and consider fuel additives that clean the fuel system. Regular spark plug inspections and timely replacements are important in regions where fuel quality is inconsistent.
