Can poor fuel quality in Pakistan damage my Suzuki Swift’s spark plugs?

I usually fill up at different petrol stations, and recently my car has been idling roughly and consuming more fuel. Could low-grade o r adulterated fuel be damaging the spark plugs in my Swift?

Yes, adulterated o r low-octane petrol commonly found at some fuel stations in Pakistan can cause spark plug fouling. Poor fuel can leave behind carbon deposits, oil-like residue, o r even lead buildup, especially in older Swift models o r cars that run rich.

Consequences of using low-quality fuel:

Reduced spark plug lifespan

Hard starting

Misfires under load

Higher maintenance costs

To minimize the risk:

Fill up only at reputed fuel stations

Use a fuel system cleaner every 10,000 km

Maintain your air filter and engine tuning regularly
