Can spark plug condition affect fuel consumption in the Swift?

My Swift’s fuel average has gone down over time, and I haven’t replaced the spark plugs in a while. Could worn o r dirty spark plugs be a reason for poor fuel efficiency, and how often should they be changed?

Absolutely. Worn-out o r dirty spark plugs can lead to incomplete combustion, causing fuel wastage and reduced mileage. This is a common oversight in Swifts that haven’t had a tune-up after 40,000–50,000 km.

Signs of bad spark plugs:

Rough engine idle.

Poor throttle response.

Frequent engine misfires.

Fixes:

Replace spark plugs every 30,000–40,000 km or as per Suzuki’s manual.

Use genuine o r recommended spark plugs e.g., NGK o r Denso for Swift.

Include spark plug inspection in regular tune-ups.
