Coolant Level ping Frequently — Is My United Alpha Radiator Leaking?

I have to top up coolant in my United Alpha almost every week, even though there are no major visible leaks on the ground. The temperature rises slightly during traffic jams. Could this be due to small radiator leaks o r pin-holes? What areas of the radiator should I check first?

If your United Alpha requires coolant top-ups every few days o r weekly, it’s usually a sign of a slow radiator leak. These leaks can be small enough that coolant evaporates before reaching the ground, making them hard to spot.

Common causes of slow radiator leaks

Pin-hole leaks in the radiator core

Weak radiator cap cannot hold pressure

Small cracks in the plastic side tanks

Leaking hose connections near the radiator

How to check

Inspect around the radiator fins for white o r green crusty marks dried coolant.

Look for dampness around the side tanks and bottom corners.

Check the radiator cap rubber seal for cracks.

Observe coolant level after a long drive—if it s only when hot, the leak is likely pressure-related.

If the leak is small, sometimes the radiator can be repaired, but replacement is safer if cracks are in the plastic tanks.
