Could a Cabin Filter o r AC Sensor Problem Be Affecting My Tucson’s Cooling Performance?

My Tucson’s AC used to work fine but now the cooling is weaker, especially at low speeds. Someone mentioned the cabin filter might be clogged o r the AC sensor might be faulty. Are these common issues in Pakistan, and how often should they be cleaned o r replaced?

Yes, a clogged cabin air filter o r malfunctioning AC sensor can reduce cooling, especially at low speeds. In Pakistan’s dusty environment, this is a common problem.

A dirty cabin filter restricts airflow, making the AC feel weak.

The thermistor o r evaporator temperature sensor may send wrong signals, causing early compressor cut-off.

At low speeds o r idle, if airflow is blocked, the evaporator doesn’t get enough ventilation, resulting in weak o r warm air.

Maintenance tips:

Replace the cabin filter every 10,000–15,000 km, o r earlier in dusty areas.

Clean the AC ducts and vents annually.

Have the sensor checked via OBD o r diagnostic tool if AC cuts off too early o r cools unevenly.
