Could a Malfunctioning Radiator Fan Lead to My Tucson’s Engine Overheating?

My Hyundai Tucson overheats mainly when idling o r in slow traffic. I suspect the radiator cooling fan isn’t working properly. How can I check if the radiator fan is faulty, and how often do these fans fail in Pakistani models?

Absolutely. The radiator cooling fan is crucial, especially when the vehicle is stationary o r moving slowly:

Fans pull air through the radiator to dissipate heat.

If fans fail due to a bad motor, blown fuse, relay issue, o r wiring fault, cooling is compromised.

In Pakistan’s hot weather, a non-working fan will quickly cause overheating in traffic o r idle.

How to check:

Turn on the AC and let the engine warm up the fan should start automatically.

Listen for the fan noise o r visually confirm it’s spinning.

Get a mechanic to test fan motor and related electrical components if it doesn’t turn on.
