Could a weak compressor cause my Swifts AC to stop cooling properly?

My 2012 Swift AC works fine in the morning, but once the engine heats up, the air becomes warm. A mechanic said the compressor might be weak. Is this common in older Swifts in Pakistan, and should I replace the compressor o r try a repair?

Yes, a weak compressor is a common issue in older Suzuki Swifts especially models 2010–2015 in Pakistan. Signs of a failing compressor include:

Cooling only when the engine is cold

A buzzing o r clicking noise when AC is turned on

Compressor clutch not engaging

Compressors often wear out after 8–10 years, especially with poor-quality gas refills o r infrequent use in winter. Replacing the compressor is usually better than repairing it, as repairs are often short-term in Pakistani workshop conditions.

Tip: Always replace the receiver/drier and flush the system when changing the compressor.
