Could a weak radiator fan be causing my Suzuki Mehran to overheat?

My car seems to overheat mostly during idle o r slow speeds. I suspect the radiator fan isn’t working properly o r spinning slowly. How can I check if the radiator fan is functioning right, and is it common for Mehran fans to go bad?

Absolutely. The radiator fan is essential for cooling the engine, especially at low speeds o r during idle. If the fan is not turning on at the right time, o r if the motor is weak, it can’t pull enough air through the radiator to cool the coolant.

You should:

Test the fan directly with a 12V source to see if it spins strongly.

Check the fan switch o r relay.

Ensure the wiring isnt damaged o r corroded. In many Pakistani Mehrans, owners bypass the automatic switch and install a manual switch to control the fan directly.
