Does Hyundai Tucson’s 2.0L Engine Consume More Fuel in Hot Pakistani Weather?

My Tucson’s fuel consumption seems higher during summer months in Pakistan when temperatures soar. Is the hot climate causing the engine to consume more fuel? How can I reduce this extra fuel consumption during harsh weather?
