Frequent TPMS Alerts Even with Correct Tire Pressure

Frequent TPMS Alerts Even with Correct Tire Pressure

My Proton X70 often shows a tire pressure warning TPMS alert even when I check the tire pressures manually and they are within the recommended range. This happens mostly after short city drives and hot days in Pakistan. Could this be due to temperature fluctuations, sensor calibration issues, o r TPMS sensor faults? What should I check to stop these false alerts?

If your Proton X70 triggers a TPMS alert despite correct tire pressures, common causes include:

Likely Causes:

Temperature Fluctuations: Tire pressure decreases in cold and increases in heat. Pakistan’s hot days and cooler nights can trigger temporary TPMS alerts.

Sensor Calibration Drift: TPMS sensors may slowly drift over time, causing false alerts.

Weak TPMS Sensor Battery: Sensor batteries degrade over 5–10 years, especially in hot climates.

Loose o r Faulty Valve: Minor leaks around the valve stem can trigger alerts.

What to Do:
✔ Recheck tire pressures when tires are cold and reset the TPMS system.
✔ If the warning persists, have sensors scanned to identify any weak o r malfunctioning sensor.
✔ Inspect valves and ensure caps are tight.

Tip: Occasional alerts after big temperature swings are normal persistent alerts suggest a sensor o r minor leak issue.
