How can I detect a hidden radiator leak in my Suzuki Swift when coolant keeps ping but I see no puddles?

My Swift loses coolant every few days, but I don’t see any external leaks o r wet spots under the car. Could there be a slow radiator leak, and how do I find it without dismantling the whole system?

If your Swift is losing coolant with no visible leak, this is often called a phantom leak, and may be due to:

Evaporation from small leaks that only appear under pressure.

A hairline crack in the radiator that only opens when hot.

A slow internal leak e.g., coolant entering the engine via a faulty head gasket.

Coolant leaking into the heater core and evaporating inside the cabin check for foggy windows o r sweet smell.

Detection methods:

Pressure test on a cold system to see where coolant seeps out.

Use a UV dye coolant leak detector available at most auto shops.

Check under the radiator cap for signs of rust o r bubbling, indicating head gasket issues.
