How do I check if my Suzuki Swift’s PCV valve is causing oil loss?

I read that a faulty PCV Positive Crankcase Ventilation valve can lead to oil being sucked into the intake and burned. How can I tell if the PCV valve in my Suzuki Swift is causing this problem, and is it a common issue in Pakistani models?

A faulty PCV Positive Crankcase Ventilation valve can cause excess oil consumption. The PCV valve helps remove gases from the crankcase, but if it becomes clogged o r damaged, it can cause pressure buildup, which may lead to oil being sucked into the intake manifold and burned.

Signs of a Faulty PCV Valve:

Excessive oil consumption without visible leaks.

Blue smoke from the exhaust, indicating oil burning.

Rough idling o r poor engine performance.

Engine pressure buildup you might notice a decrease in performance o r feel pressure when removing the oil cap.

Fixes:

Inspect the PCV valve for clogging o r damage. You can do this by removing it and shaking it—if you don’t hear a rattling noise, it’s likely faulty.

Replace the PCV valve with an OEM part if necessary.

If the PCV valve is clogged, it may also help to clean the hoses and connections leading to the valve to restore proper airflow.

Regularly check the oil cap to ensure it’s tightly sealed and that no pressure is building in the engine.
