Is Alternator Failure a Known Issue in Pakistan-Delivered Hyundai Tucsons?

I’ve heard a few Tucson owners in Pakistan complain about alternator failures within 2–3 years of ownership. My 2021 Tucson has started showing electrical glitches, and I’m worried it might be related. Is premature alternator failure a known problem in the local CKD models?

Yes, there have been multiple unofficial reports from Tucson owners in Pakistan experiencing alternator issues within 2–3 years of purchase, especially in 2020–2022 CKD models. Although not officially acknowledged as a recall o r service bulletin issue, common causes include:

Substandard alternator parts o r weak regulators in some locally assembled units.

Inconsistent power supply quality e.g., jump-start surges, faulty battery replacements.

Excessive heat and dust, which accelerate wear on bearings and internal circuits.

If your Tucson is under warranty, insist on a diagnostic test at a Hyundai dealership. If out of warranty, go to a reliable electrician for a detailed alternator test before replacing any parts.
