Is Battery Drain a Common Issue in Locally Assembled Hyundai Tucsons?

Many Tucson owners in Pakistan complain about unexpected battery failures o r quick drain. I own a 2022 Tucson CKD model, and this has happened to me twice. Is this a known problem with local units, possibly related to poor electrical system design o r battery quality?

Yes, many owners of CKD locally assembled Hyundai Tucsons in Pakistan report premature battery drain o r failure within 1–2 years. Causes may include:

Inferior quality OEM batteries supplied with CKD units.

Lack of proper grounding o r loose terminals from factory o r dealership.

Software bugs in infotainment o r ECU that prevent full electrical shutdown.

Hyundai Pakistan has not officially issued a recall for this, but dealerships often replace the battery under warranty if the issue appears early.

Recommendations:

Get the battery and alternator tested professionally.

Ask your dealership to update the vehicle firmware if applicable.

Upgrade to a reliable aftermarket battery AGM o r high-capacity lead-acid for better performance.
