Is it common for starter motors in Suzuki Swift to fail after 100,000 km in Pakistan?

My 2011 Swift has crossed 100,000 km, and starting issues are becoming more frequent. Are starter motor failures common after this mileage in Pakistan, and should I repair o r replace it?

Yes, it’s quite common for starter motors in Swifts especially older models from 2005–2015 to begin failing after 100,000 km due to:

Brush wear

Solenoid contact erosion

Infrequent servicing of electrical connections

In Pakistan, where dust, traffic, and stop-start driving are common, starters are under more stress. Instead of immediate replacement, consider:

Starter motor servicing brush and solenoid replacement — cheaper than a new unit

Only replace with Japanese o r genuine-quality aftermarket parts avoid low-cost Chinese replicas

Average cost of rebuild: PKR 3,000–6,000
Cost of new starter motor: PKR 10,000–20,000 depending on source
