I bought a new battery for my Mehran last summer, but its already dead. Considering the hot climate and short trips, is this expected o r is there something wrong?

No, it’s not normal for a battery to die within a year, even in Pakistan’s hot weather. A good quality battery should last 2 to 3 years, even in local conditions. If your battery dies within a year, possible reasons include:

Low-quality o r old stock battery.

Frequent short trips where the alternator doesn’t get time to fully charge the battery.

Excessive heat like in summers in Karachi, Lahore, o r Multan which causes water loss in the battery.

Weak charging system o r faulty alternator.

Always buy batteries from authorized dealers with a proper warranty card and check the manufacturing date on the battery.
