Is It Okay to Drive My Suzuki Khyber with Slightly Overinflated Tires?

Sometimes, I find myself topping up the tire pressure a bit above the recommended level to compensate for natural pressure loss. Recently, I accidentally overinflated the tires by about 3-4 PSI. Is this dangerous? What impact could overinflation have on my Khyber’s performance and tire life?

While driving with slightly overinflated tires by 3–4 PSI might not cause immediate damage, it can lead to long-term issues.

Potential Issues:
Reduced Traction: Overinflated tires have a smaller contact patch with the road, reducing grip and handling, especially on wet o r slippery surfaces.

Increased Risk of a Blowout: Overinflation increases the pressure inside the tire, making it more prone to failure, especially when hitting potholes o r rough roads.

Uneven Wear: Overinflated tires tend to wear in the center of the tread, reducing the lifespan of the tire.

Fix:
Adjust to Manufacturer Specifications: If you overinflate your tires by mistake, make sure to deflate them to the recommended pressure around 30-32 PSI for Khyber. This will help maintain tire longevity and safety.

Check Tire Pressure Regularly: Its important to regularly check and adjust your tire pressure, especially if youre driving in extreme weather conditions.
